1. Would you like the Storytelling Festival held annually or every other year? 28 - annually, 0 - every other year
2. Was the Storytelling Festival a valuable experience?
28 - Yes, 0 - No
3. Please list any suggestions or comments you would like to make.
" Let the parents know what the storytelling
festival is. My sister had no clue what it was and she would have been here
for it.
" Very well organized! Nice job and good wings! (2)
" The food was great and there was plenty of it, too. Thank you!
" I thought it was a great experience for my son. He was very excited and
it motivated him to do a good job.
" I think it's great!
" Even out the number of students in the rooms more.
" Wouldn't change anything. Very enjoyable. (2)
" I think all the children did a wonderful job.
" I would suggest that the staff (teachers, parents, librarians, etc.)
work with the children on the volume of their voices. The stories were good
but difficult to hear many of the children. Thank you for a great lunch and
supporting higher education.
" Presentations should be made at grade levels.
" Wonderful preparation for their futures - speaking in front of an audience,
expressing themselves with inflection and emotion. Excellent experience. If
it wasn't held every year there would be a loss of momentum and some students
would miss out.
" A pleasant experience, what talent! Very well behaved children!
" Sure was nice when we used to have a professional storyteller! Otherwise,
everything was fine. The medals were nice this year.
" Storytelling is very valuable and should be held every year to keep up
the interest. It ran very smoothly. Perhaps, after the awards are presented,
it might be fun to have a professional storyteller tell a tale, then talk briefly
about storytelling. The kids are here because they have an interest and would
appreciate this entertainment and discussion.
" It was great. Thanks for all your efforts.
" There should be smaller groups in even numbers with different stories,
so not all are telling the same story and set a time limit. Split the day up
in two sessions.
" There should be press coverage and articles in Buffalo News, Union-Sun
and Niagara Gazette.
" Storytelling is becoming a lost art. It would be nice if the newspapers
in the towns where our children are from would cover the storytelling competition.
The Medina Journal never covered the competition despite having an article and
picture submitted last year. Nothing as yet this year.

smaller groups.

a little speech about how they feel about this competition.
" If you are in the storytelling festival, add lots of hand gestures and
voices so that your audience does not get bored with your presentation.
